School Uniform

We encourage the children to wear school uniform whilst at school. This comprises of:

Grey or black trousers/skirt/pinafore
White or red polo shirts/ white shirt/blouse
School sweatshirt/Cardigan with logo (red, black for Y6 only)
(Football shirts and clothing with advertising logos are discouraged)

Pupils should wear robust shoes. Shoes should be flat or low heeled and suitable for playtimes.

Sweatshirts are available from school. Please ask for information at the office.

School uniform is practical, non-competitive and good value for money and encourages a sense of belonging and pride in our school. We hope that parents will support us by insisting that their children wear our uniform. If official clothing is not chosen we ask that children are suitably and sensibly dressed for the working day. No jeans or tracksuit bottoms please.

For safety reasons jewellery is not permitted, watches and small ear studs being the only exception. However if your child does wear small studs they must be removed for PE. If you wish your child’s ears to be pierced please arrange for this at the beginning of the summer holidays.

In summer, tailored shorts in a dark colour may be worn – not sports shorts. The school field can be very exposed to the sun in the summer months. Please make sure that sunscreen is applied before school and that your child has a sunhat.

In winter, children should have a hat and gloves. Wellies should be brought for snowy playtimes

A reading book bag is required. They are available to order from the school office.

PLEASE MAKE SURE YOUR CHILD’S NAME IS ON ALL UNIFORM. THIS IS SO IMPORTANT AND SAVES A GREAT DEAL OF TIME AND EXPENSE IF ITEMS ARE LOST. Name tapes and sweatshirts with Initials can be ordered.

PE Dress

For safety reasons a change of clothing and footwear is required for PE. PE kit comprises of:

Black shorts
Plain white t-shirt
Plimsolls or trainers are required for outdoor PE (Bare feet are recommended for inside)

Due to lack of space we request PE clothing is sent in a drawstring bag. We would ask that children do not bring large sports bags to school.

When the weather is suitable, PE will take place outside in the winter. We recommend warm tracksuit or joggers and top.

We request PE kit is at school at all times as PE opportunities may be taken on days other than those specifically timetabled. If earrings are worn at school they must be removed for PE. Covering them with tape proves impractical and ineffective.
