Last year we had fantastic support from parents and carers, who helped our students throughout the year by supporting them at home, encouraging homework completion, attendance at intervention sessions and critically, starting a revision plan early. This year we are looking forward to working with you and your child to ensure that they achieve excellent results.
At the end of last term, as part of our pastoral restructure we tasked our students with selecting the names for our new small schools that reflected our community and values. The names that they chose were all linked to the explorer Frank Wild and his expeditions to the Antarctic.

Our Open Evening will take place at 6.00 pm – 8.00 pm on Tuesday 18 September 2018. A short presentation will begin at 6.00 pm and then you are welcome to look around our academy. This is a good opportunity, especially for Year 5 and Year 6 students, to find out more about Freebrough Academy.
I am delighted and proud to be leading Freebrough Academy. Our aim is to ensure that every child in our school feels safe, valued and respected.
Our Academy has had a long tradition of working in partnership with parents to ensure our pupils have the skills, dispositions and values they will need to lead happy and fulfilling lives. We all know that examination results are important, however, here at Freebrough we also place a high priority on instilling in our pupils dispositions such as resilience, independence and pride in themselves and in everything they do. We seek to develop the whole person forming within them a strong moral compass and good character.
In the short time I have been with Freebrough I have been hugely impressed by how hard working and committed the staff are here. There is a steely determination to do the very best for our students, whether that be in a teaching or supporting role, and a willingness to do what is needed to ensure we are all the best we can possibly be.
