Coming from North or South on the A19 follow slip road for A1130 Thornaby, at traffic lights take filter lane to the left onto Mitchell Avenue. Immediately after first set of traffic lights, turn right at junction onto Baysdale Road and right into Thornaby Academy.

Please contact the Academy directly if you are a parent of a pupil attending Thornaby Academy and require a paper copy of the any of the information on this website.  This will be provided free of charge.

Houses and Tutor Groups

The Academy is organised in ‘Houses’ to further promote and establish an environment that is more akin to a close knit, but extended ‘family’ with vertical tutor groups which means students from every year group are placed in each tutor group.

There are four Houses, Leeds, York, Durham and Newcastle, each led by a member of the pastoral support staff and housing four tutor groups each.
