All the information that students need to know about exams at Thornaby Academy can be found in this section. Our Student Exam Information booklet explains about candidate numbers, clashes, location, absence etc.
Results and Certificate Collection
Results can be collected from school on the day, or Thornaby Academy will post them to you if you have pre-arranged this and have left a large stamped addressed envelope with the exams office (room TA13). Results will be available for collection from Student Reception from 10am on Thursday 23rd August 2018. If you would like a parent/carer to collect results on your behalf you must provide a letter confirming you would like your parent/carer to collect on your behalf.
Certificates are issued if you achieve grade A* to G at GCSE, or A to E at AS level. These arrive in school about three months after you have received your results. Invitations to the certificate collection evening will be sent out to you. If you are unable to attend the collection evening to collect your certificates, you will be able to collect them from reception during normal academy opening times. If you are not collecting your certificates in person and have asked for someone to collect them on your behalf, you must give them written permission to hand in on collection.
YOU MUST KEEP YOUR EXAM CERTIFICATES IN A SAFE PLACE, AS THEY CANNOT BE REPLACED.
IF YOU LOSE YOUR CERTIFICATE YOU WILL HAVE TO CONTACT THE EXAMS BOARDS DIRECTLY YOURSELF AND PAY A FEE. THE EXAM BOARDS WILL THEN SEND YOU A CERTIFYING STATEMENT OF RESULTS (NOT A CERTIFICATE)
Please see below the contact details of the Examination Boards if you require replacement certificates. This may be due to lost certificates or incorrect details:
