Thornaby Academy Weekly Update

Dear Parent/Carer

We hope you and your family are safe and well and enjoying the benefits of the easing of Lockdown. We are very
much looking forward to welcoming Y10 students back into the Academy next week and looking forward to the
day when all of our students can attend school as usual. In the meantime, please continue to support your child’s
learning at home through Google Classroom. Please remember, paper resources of all the learning is available
upon request. Please contact the Academy by email on or by telephone on 01642
763244 for paper-based work.

Wider Opening of the Academy – Y10
We have contacted all parents and carers of Year 10 students regarding their child’s timetable for next week and
the remainder of the summer term. If you have missed a call or would like further information regarding the
face-to-face provision for Year 10 students, then please do not hesitate to contact the Academy.

School Uniform Orders
Parents and carers will receive information next week regarding the ordering of school uniform. Owing to Social
Distancing, we are unable to offer a measuring service. However, we have provided a helpful measuring guide for
you to use at home. The information also includes a price list and an order form. Details for submitting the order
forms and collecting the uniform will be included.

Free School Meals
Please be reminded that supermarket e-vouchers will not be issued during the summer holidays. They will,
however, continue for the remainder of this term, irrespective of whether your child is attending school. The
next issue date for the e-vouchers is week beginning 22 June 2020. Please do not hesitate to contact the
Academy if you experience any problems redeeming e-vouchers.

If your child does not currently receive free school meals, but you think you are eligible, please do not hesitate to
contact us by email on or by telephone on 01642 763244.

On behalf of staff, thank you for your ongoing support and please stay safe.

Yours faithfully

D Butcher
